Tottenham Hotspur have been warned by Premier League rivals Southampton that their new transfer target, James Ward-Prowse, will not be up for sale this summer.

According to Sportsmail (The Daily Mail), itās claimed that Ward-Prowse would be āon Tottenhamās radar at the right priceā, but the source states that Southampton are ādeterminedā to keep their captain at the club ahead of next season and wouldnāt be willing to listen to any offers placed on the table.
Newcastle are also interested, but the report states the chance to play in European competition could be a big factor for the player, potentially putting Spurs in pole position.
The Verdict: High ambitions
The midfielder still has a solid four years remaining on his current contract, so the Saints hierarchy wonāt be under any kind of pressure to sell him, but that doesnāt mean they will be able to stop interest from potential suitors.
The Ā£100k-per-week talisman has been dubbed an āunbelievableā player by teammate Oriol Romeu, and has even earned some high praise from legendary free-kick taker Roberto Carlos, with the former Real Madrid left-back admitting: āI like (James) Ward-Prowse very much, he seems to train properly and seems very good at set pieces.ā
